| | | | An update from The Middlewick on Green Friday | | | | | | | | | |
Well, here goes another Black Friday weekend, or as we like to call it here at The Middlewick, Green Friday.
It can feel a bit overwhelming, can't it? The pressure of consumption, especially when the news is full of weighty things like the outcomes of COP30, and at the same time Christmas is just around the corner, with shopping already underway.
It's easy to feel like whatever we do is just a drop in the ocean. That's why I think it's important to focus on the small, positive things we can do every single day. Staying grounded in what’s right here in front of us.
For us, sustainability isn't a trend; it's the foundation of everything we do, and it’s been that way since we started.
In our Farm Shop, every single product we choose has been selected with care. I’m proud to stock high quality, eco-friendly products from local makers who share our values.
Behind the scenes, we’re powered by renewables. Our solar panels and biomass boilers are working hard, keeping the whole site running cleanly, and keeping us cosy through the winter chill.
We use eco-friendly cleaning products daily in our Cottages, and we use natural, botanical and organic blends in our Spa treatments.
It’s about keeping our little corner of Somerset as clean as possible. These choices aren't grand gestures; they're part of running a responsible business.
Every penny you spend in our Café, Farm Shop or Spa, and every night you choose to stay in our eco-friendly Accommodation, is a vote for a business that genuinely cares about people and the planet.
It means you’re directly supporting local farmers, artisans, and small producers.
So, this Green Friday, let's make conscious choices that support the life we want to see right here in our community. That, to me, is where the real magic happens.
Wishing you a wonderful winter,

Sunday 21st December Join us for a nourishing day of reflection, movement and wellbeing. Start with a bracing walk up Glastonbury Tor, and choose from optional experiences: a guided tree walk with Matt Witt, Reiki and Relaxation, and a Sound Bath, both with Kelly Knight from Rest & Reignite. Our Café is open for delicious breakfast, lunch, coffee and cake.
At this time of year, summer evening strolls up Glastonbury Tor, morning yoga sessions and early dips in the pool seem far away. But we're already planning ahead to our retreats and group stays in 2026 and 2027.
Each year we host sacred site tours, meditation, yoga and wellbeing retreats, women's groups, writers, and creatives of all kinds, who are drawn by our unique location, flexible accommodation options, beautiful food and spa facilities.
We still have a some availability for groups in 2026. Please help us out by forwarding this email to those in your tribe who may like to create a retreat with us. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The Middlewick, Wick Lane, Glastonbury Somerset BA6 8JW
